Zito won't be designated for assignment according to Bochy
San Francisco Giants pitcher Barry Zito will stay with the team and not be sent down to make room for September call ups manager Bruce Bochy said Monday.
Zito managed to go four innings in his Monday afternoon start giving up three walks, four hits, and four earned runs.
The Giants 40-man roster will still feature the struggling Zito come the end of the season. The Giants are 0-11 in Zito's last eleven starts.
Zito has a 4-11 record and a .581 ERA.
