The Toronto Blue Jays could be poised to make a big splash this offseason.

The Blue Jays "want to do something big" to improve the roster this offseason, a source told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Toronto is coming off a disappointing 2023 campaign. The Blue Jays finished the regular season 89-73 and were swept in two games by the Minnesota Twins in the American League wild-card series.

Toronto entered the luxury tax for the first time in franchise history last season. The club has a number of key free agents, including Gold Glove third baseman Matt Chapman, second baseman Whit Merrifield, and first baseman Brandon Belt.

The Blue Jays have just two years of club control remaining on first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and shortstop Bo Bichette before the pair are scheduled to hit free agency at the conclusion of the 2025 campaign.
