The Los Angeles Dodgers' rotation took a hit, as Tony Gonsolin is likely to miss the rest of the season with forearm inflammation.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that the right-hander will be placed on the injured list a day after struggling during his start Friday and will undergo further testing on his elbow.

"I think that all pitchers have something going on with their arms and elbows, with the mileage," Roberts said, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. "But (we) were all aligned as far as it made sense for us to continue to give (Gonsolin) the baseball. And right now we just feel where we’re at, the IL is the best course of action."

Gonsolin allowed 10 runs over 3.1 innings against the Miami Marlins, surrendering a career-high five homers.

The 29-year-old has struggled with inconsistent performances throughout the season as he's pitched through elbow issues and will likely finish the year with a 4.98 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 103 innings after being named an All-Star in 2022.

The NL West-leading Dodgers are already without injured starters Dustin May and Walker Buehler.
