The Miami Marlins will be without Jazz Chisholm Jr. for four-to-six weeks with turf toe, manager Skip Schumaker said Tuesday, according to Craig Mish of MLB Network.
Chisholm, 25, was placed on the injured list retroactive to May 14. The Marlins recalled infielder Xavier Edwards and also reinstated right-handed reliever J.T. Chargois.
The former All-Star was removed from last Saturday's game with an injury. X-rays were negative, but Chisholm was sent to a specialist.
Chisholm, who's in the first season of taking over centerfield duties after previously serving as a middle infielder, is hitting .229/.291/.403 with seven homers and fourteen stolen bases through 39 games.
