The Atlanta Braves are set to receive a huge boost to their lineup.

Atlanta reinstated infielder Ozzie Albies from the injured list Friday ahead of its series opener with the Philadelphia Phillies. He will hit eighth in the lineup in his return.

The Braves also designated right-hander Jay Jackson for assignment and placed infielder Ehire Adrianza on the 10-day IL with a quad injury in corresponding roster moves.

"It feels awesome to be here," Albies said, according to The Associated Press. "Everything feels normal."

Albies has been sidelined since mid-June after suffering a fractured left foot. The 25-year-old made seven appearances for Triple-A Gwinnett on a rehab assignment, posting a .852 OPS with one home run and six RBIs across 27 at-bats.

Albies' return to the lineup will likely mean a shift to another position for talented rookie Vaughn Grissom. Grissom has made 31 appearances at second base since being recalled from Double-A. The 21-year-old has put up a 131 wRC+ with five home runs, 16 RBIs, and 22 runs scored in 121 plate appearances.

"The good news is he says he feels great," Braves manager Brian Snitker added. "With his energy and what he can bring, it's a good thing, a shot in the arm for us."

The Braves enter play Friday with an 88-55 record. They trail the New York Mets by one game for first place in the NL East.
