The San Diego Padres are willing to discuss outfield prospect Robert Hassell III, shortstop C.J. Abrams, and left-hander Adrian Morejon in trade negotiations for Washington Nationals star outfielder Juan Soto, sources told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

Hassell, 20, is the Padres' top prospect, according to MLB.com. The young outfielder has put together a strong campaign at Single-A in 2022. Hassell owns a .847 OPS with nine home runs, 52 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases in 73 games.

The 21-year-old Abrams made his major-league debut for the Padres this season. The speedy shortstop has struggled to the tune of a .610 OPS with a pair of home runs and 11 RBIs in his first 44 games but carries tremendous upside on both sides of the ball.

Morejon owns a 1-0 record with a 6.75 ERA and nine strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings across seven relief appearances this season. The 23-year-old returned to action after recovering from Tommy John surgery, which sidelined him for the majority of the 2021 campaign.

The Padres and St. Louis Cardinals were seen as the front-runners earlier this week to acquire Soto if Washington decides to pull the trigger on a blockbuster trade before the Aug. 2 deadline.

San Diego entered play Saturday with a 56-45 record, holding the second wild-card spot in the National League.
