Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer was removed from Thursday's win over the Detroit Tigers with what manager John Schneider described as elbow discomfort.

Schneider said Springer is "feeling good, he really is," and will be re-evaluated on Friday, according to Sportnet's Shi Davidi.

The 32-year-old grabbed at his right elbow after taking a swing in the eighth inning.

Springer sat out the Blue Jays' last game of the first half and also skipped the All-Star Game because of a sore elbow.

The four-time All-Star is hitting .254/.331/.471 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs after going 1-for-5 on Thursday.
