The Toronto Blue Jays acquired outfielder Bradley Zimmer from the Cleveland Guardians for right-handed reliever Anthony Castro, the Guardians announced Thursday.
The 29-year-old Zimmer has spent his entire five-year career in Cleveland, recording a .658 OPS with 19 home runs, 86 RBIs, and 39 stolen bases.
Castro, 26, made 25 appearances for the Blue Jays in 2021, posting a 1-2 record with a 4.74 ERA and 11.68 K/9 in 24 2/3 innings.
Zimmer has played 194 career games in center field and could provide the Blue Jays with an option behind George Springer, who appeared in just 78 contests due to various injuries last season.
