White Sox acquire Haseley from Phillies
The Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Adam Haseley from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for right-handed pitching prospect McKinley Moore, the team announced Tuesday.
To make room for Haseley on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated outfielder Blake Rutherford for assignment, according to The Athletic's James Fegan.
Haseley, 25, was the Opening Day starter in center field for the Phillies last season. However, he only appeared in nine games before Philadelphia placed him on the restricted list for personal reasons.
The Phillies selected Haseley eighth overall in the 2017 MLB Draft, but he never found his footing with the organization.
Haseley owns a career .264/.322/.373 slash line with five home runs, 20 doubles, and 39 RBIs in 116 games.
The 23-year-old Moore posted a 2-2 record with a 4.20 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings pitched in Single-A last season.
