The Baltimore Orioles agreed to a one-year contract with catcher Robinson Chirinos, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.
The deal will reportedly pay Chirinos $900,000 in 2022, plus an additional $75,000 in incentives. He'll also receive $100,000 if he's traded, adds Heyman.
The 37-year-old spent last season with the Chicago Cubs, hitting .227/.324/.454 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in 45 games.
Chirinos will likely act as a veteran presence for top prospect catcher Adley Rutschman.
The 10-year veteran owns a career .231/.325/.432 slash line with 91 home runs and 284 RBIs in 647 games. Chirinos has also made stops with the Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, and New York Mets.
