The Toronto Blue Jays placed infielder Cavan Biggio on the 10-day injured list with mid-back tightness, the team announced Tuesday.

Toronto activated outfielder Corey Dickerson from the injured list, and he'll make his Blue Jays debut batting sixth and serving as the club's designated hitter against Cleveland on Tuesday.

Manager Charlie Montoyo added that neck and back injuries have nagged at Biggio all season, and he's hopeful the IL stint will only require the minimum 10-day stay, according to TSN's Scott Mitchell.

Biggio, 26, has struggled at the plate throughout the 2021 season, batting .215/.316/.350 with seven home runs across 77 games. The results are a step down from the .240/.368/.430 slash line he displayed over 159 games between 2019-20.

The Blue Jays acquired Dickerson, 32, alongside reliever Adam Cimber from the Miami Marlins in late June. He's been on the IL with a bone bruise in his left foot since before the acquisition. Dickerson was hitting .260/.321/.377 with a pair of home runs across 62 games.
