A's select a different Max Muncy 25th overall

The Oakland Athletics selected Max Muncy, a shortstop out of Thousand Oaks High School, 25th overall in the 2021 MLB Draft.

He is, of course, not the current Los Angeles Dodgers infielder, but the A's did originally select that Max Muncy in the fifth round in 2012.

But that's not where the similarities end, as the infielders share an Aug. 25 birthday, with the Dodgers slugger born in 1990 and the newly minted pick in 2002.

The high-school star is committed to Arkansas, but Muncy would enter Oakland's system if he signs.
