The legend of Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani continues to grow.

Ohtani hit a pair of home runs, including his 30th of the season, during Friday night's nail-biting victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Afterward, opposing manager Brandon Hyde took note of the slugger's abilities.

"He pretty much single-handedly beat us," Hyde said, according to Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun.

He added: "The guy's got everything - the hottest hitter on the planet right now, and it's not just driving the ball, base hits. It's deep home runs. You walk him, he's going to steal second on you. It's plus-plus speed, plus-plus power, and he's locked in. It's extremely challenging to face him. ... I mean, he's one of the best players on the planet."

In addition to his two homers, the reigning AL Player of the Month walked in the ninth with the game tied at seven, stole second base, and scored the winning run on Jared Walsh's single.

"What he's doing is kind of unheard of," Angels manager Joe Maddon said, according to Megan Garcia of MLB.com. "The only blip recently was the game in New York as a pitcher. His whole game is spectacular to watch. It's an All-Star performance, above and beyond. (In two weeks) everyone will get a chance to watch. It's a pleasure to be his manager, to be a steward of his career."

Ohtani, who's started 12 times on the mound this season, also made a bit of history with his second homer against the Orioles.

Additionally, Ohtani became the first AL player to hit 30 home runs while stealing 10 or more bases in the first half of a season. Only Sammy Sosa in 1998 and Albert Pujols in 2009 have done it in the NL.

But despite Ohtani's superhuman efforts, the 40-41 Angels sit nine games back of the Houston Astros in the AL West.
