The New York Yankees have acquired speedy outfielder Tim Locastro from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for minor-league pitcher Keegan Curtis, the Yankees announced Thursday.

Locastro can play center field and has hit .178/.271/.220 with one homer and five steals over 55 games this season. The 28-year-old has stolen 31 bases over 200 career MLB games, and he entered 2021 boasting a 100% success rate in that regard; he's been caught three times this year.

Curtis, 25, has played the entire 2021 campaign at Double-A. The right-hander owns a 3.94 ERA and 1.90 FIP over 16 1/3 innings, making 12 relief appearances and notching two saves.

Locastro should provide another outfield option for a struggling Yankees club hampered by injuries. Everyday center fielder Aaron Hicks has been sidelined since May and is expected to miss the remainder of the season after requiring wrist surgery. Brett Gardner has been filling in primarily.
