The Arizona Diamondbacks made history Wednesday while losing 13-7 to the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.

It was the club's 22nd consecutive road loss, and Arizona's streak of road defeats is now tied for the longest in baseball's modern era, matching the 1963 New York Mets and 1943 Philadelphia Athletics. The team's last victory away from Chase Field was Madison Bumgarner's unofficial no-hitter in Atlanta on April 25.

"This is obviously nothing that we ever expected, nothing that we're proud of, and we can’t reverse anything that's happened over the past 40-plus days," manager Torey Lovullo said postgame, according to Janie McCauley of The Associated Press. "We've got to find a way to win a baseball game tomorrow."

The Diamondbacks will look to avoid breaking the dubious record on Thursday in San Francisco.

In addition to their record-setting road woes, the league-worst D-Backs have now lost 13 straight contests overall. They've won just five of their last 41 games, which is the worst 41-game stretch in the NL since the 1909 Boston Doves, according to Stats By Stats.
