Major League Baseball has added seven days to Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Trevor Bauer's administrative leave, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Seven days is the maximum amount administrative leave can be renewed, but the league and players association will discuss an indefinite extension if nothing is resolved in the next week, Passan adds.

MLB is investigating Bauer for assault following the execution of a domestic violence restraining order a woman filed in late June. The Pasadena Police Department has been looking into the situation since mid-May.

The 30-year-old has a formal hearing to discuss the restraining order in court on July 23. No charges have been filed.

The 67-page document, which contains pictures indicating "significant head and facial trauma," states Bauer strangled the woman until she was unconscious multiple times, according to copies The Athletic's Brittany Ghiroli and Katie Strang obtained. The woman also states Bauer penetrated her anally while she was unconscious on one occasion.

"We continue to refute (the woman's) allegations in the strongest possible terms, and Mr. Bauer vehemently denies her account of their two meetings," Bauer's representatives Jon Fetterolf and Rachel Luba said in a statement Thursday, obtained by The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

The league office originally placed Bauer on administrative leave on July 2.
