Yankees' Hicks could need surgery for torn tendon sheath in wrist

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks has been diagnosed with a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist, manager Aaron Boone said Friday, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Boone also noted that surgery is a possibility.
The injury was revealed when Hicks, 31, underwent tests on his sore wrist Thursday after missing two games in three days.
The switch-hitting center fielder has struggled over 32 contests this season, hitting .194/.294/.333 with four homers.
Hicks hasn't been placed on the injured list.
So far this season, the Yankees' outfield ranks 27th in MLB, according to FanGraphs WAR. Brett Gardner will likely play center field without Hicks in the lineup.
