Cincinnati Reds infielder Alex Blandino and Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Luis Oviedo engaged in a lighthearted standoff before Monday night's game at PNC Park.

After the singing of the national anthem ended, the two remained on the sidelines with their caps above their hearts as Pirates starters took the field and the Reds prepared to bat.

It was a game of chicken to see who would blink first.

Oviedo was smiling throughout while Blandino was mostly stoic and statuesque.

Ultimately, once home-plate umpire Chris Conroy got involved to stop the standoff, Oviedo went to the dugout first.
