The New York Mets are planning to place Jacob deGrom on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right side tightness, the team announced Monday.

The ace underwent an MRI, which showed no structural damage.

New York's move will be retroactive to Monday. As a result, deGrom could return during the Mets' series against the Miami Marlins from May 21-23, notes Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

The two-time Cy Young winner was removed from Sunday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks after five innings. He summoned trainers after throwing two warmup pitches prior to the sixth frame.

The 32-year-old had his previous start bumped due to a right lat strain.
