The Milwaukee Brewers placed right-hander Corbin Burnes on the injured list, the team announced Thursday.

The Brewers did not specify the injury or indicate how much time he could miss, though it's not expected to be a lengthy absence.

"None of these injuries are very long-term," manager Craig Counsell said, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic.

Since Burnes wasn't placed on the 10-day IL, he could still be reinstated before his next outing. He is currently scheduled to start Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 26-year-old has been one of baseball's best pitchers in the season's early going, posting a 2-2 record with a 1.53 ERA, 0.55 WHIP, and 15.03 K/9. He's yet to allow a walk over 29 1/3 innings of work.

The Brewers also placed right-hander Zack Godley on the 10-day injured list with a contusion on his right index finger. Left-hander Eric Lauer and righty Alec Bettinger were recalled from the club's alternate site in corresponding moves.
