Angels expect Trout to play Friday after suffering elbow contusion
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout exited Thursday's game against the Houston Astros with a right elbow contusion after being hit by a pitch from Cristian Javier in the fourth inning, the team announced.

Manager Joe Maddon said postgame he believes Trout will return to the lineup for Friday's contest, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
Trout initially stayed in the game before being removed in the bottom of the fifth. Scott Schebler replaced him.
The 29-year-old seemed OK as he ran the bases and appeared to talk about the pitch with Astros third baseman Alex Bregman.

"I thought it was a slider, dude," Trout said. "Yeah, I can't pick up the ball here."
The Angels can't afford to lose Trout for an extended period. He's batting .393/.514/.804 with six home runs and 12 RBIs through 70 plate appearances this season.
