Report: Dodgers' Graterol on IL due to previous COVID-19 bout
Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Brusdar Graterol opened the major-league season on the injured list but he's not injured.
His IL stint is "related to COVID from the past," a source told Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Graterol is behind schedule and not hurt, Castillo notes.
Major League Baseball originally listed Graterol as being on the 60-day injured list, but that information has since been updated. The 60-day designation was made in error, an MLB spokesperson told Castillo.
Graterol, 22, remains without an official timeline but has reportedly been building up his arm strength.
The Dodgers acquired the right-hander last February in the trade that sent starter Kenta Maeda to the Minnesota Twins. Graterol recorded a 3.09 ERA and 0.90 WHIP over 23 1/3 innings in 2020.
