The Texas Rangers announced Wednesday that Globe Life Field will operate at 100% capacity during the team's final two exhibition games versus the Milwaukee Brewers on March 29 and 30 and its regular-season opener against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 5.

The team plans to scale back attendance and use socially distanced sections following the home opener.

Fans will be required to wear masks inside the ballpark except when eating or drinking in their seats, one of several health and safety guidelines issued by the Rangers.

The announcement comes after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said last week he would lift the statewide mask mandate and permit businesses to operate at full capacity. The changes took effect Wednesday.

The Rangers are the first MLB team to announce full capacity at their home stadium for the upcoming regular season.
