Free-agent right-hander Mike Leake will not play this season until the coronavirus is under control and things are closer to normal, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

The 33-year-old has already turned down multiple offers after opting out of the 2020 campaign due to concerns about the coronavirus.

Leake was previously employed by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who declined his $18-million option for 2021 in October.

The veteran hurler was 12-11 with a 4.29 ERA for the D-Backs and Seattle Mariners in 2019, throwing 197 innings.

He's been a durable starter throughout most of his career, logging more than 138 innings in all 10 of his big-league seasons.
