The Toronto Blue Jays are interested in signing free-agent left-hander J.A. Happ, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

It would be his third stint with the Blue Jays after appearing in 135 games (127 starts) with Toronto over parts of six seasons in 2012-14 and 2016-18. He owns a 59-41 record, 3.88 ERA, and 1.28 WHIP with the club and earned his lone All-Star appearance in 2018 just before he was traded.

Happ was dealt to the New York Yankees at the 2018 trade deadline for infielder Brandon Drury and outfielder Billy McKinney. Since the trade, he's gone 21-10 with a 4.13 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with the Yankees.

Toronto is expected to be busy this offseason; the front office said they intended to be aggressive in free agency and on the trade front. They've been attached to a variety of players already, including George Springer and Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor.

The Blue Jays aren't the only team interested in the veteran southpaw. The Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers are both reportedly in the market for his services.
