Rays' Phillips hyperventilated, needed IV after delivering walk-off hit
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Brett Phillips was the hero in Game 4 of the World Series, but his night didn't end there.
After delivering a walk-off hit in the ninth inning to even the Fall Classic against the Los Angeles Dodgers at 2 games apiece, Phillips had a resting heart rate of 140, was hyperventilating, and needed an IV, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Phillips returned to the trainer's room and had to cover his eyes while suffering from "a pounding migraine" following his first career postseason hit. The plate appearance also marked the 26-year-old's first World Series at-bat.
The Florida native immediately appeared in a post-game interview on MLB Network after the game and seemed out of breath.

Phillips joined the Rays midseason in 2020. The outfielder hit .150/.320/.400 with one homer and three steals in 17 appearances with Tampa.
