Athletics' Hendriks, Brewers' Williams win Reliever of the Year awards

Oakland Athletics closer Liam Hendriks and Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Devin Williams were named the recipients of the Reliever of the Year Award in the American League and National League, MLB announced Saturday.

Hendriks, who won his first Mariano Rivera Reliever of the Year Award, posted a 1.78 ERA with a 13.1 K/9 and 14 saves this season. The 31-year-old will become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2020 campaign.

Meanwhile, Williams became the third straight Brewers pitcher to collect the Trevor Hoffman Reliever of the Year Award after Josh Hader took home the honor in 2018 and 2019.

The 26-year-old Williams authored a sparkling 0.33 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 27 innings in 2020. He's one of the favorites to also win NL Rookie of the Year.
