There won't be any beer baths or champagne showers in MLB clubhouses this fall.

The league is delivering a memo to clubs this week in which it will insist that clinching celebrations be socially distant, outdoors, and dry, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

In an effort to limit contact amid the pandemic, MLB is banning alcohol from being provided to players when their teams clinch a division, playoff spot, or win a postseason series.

It's the latest step MLB is taking to prevent the virus from spreading further. The league has already decided to host the postseason in bubbles at neutral sites to limit the amount of travel for teams and players.

MLB has weathered the storm so far after substantial outbreaks occurred among the Miami Marlins' and St. Louis Cardinals' players and staff earlier in the season. Other teams have experienced games and series being postponed due to positive and false-positive tests.
