The Philadelphia Phillies have called up third baseman Alec Bohm, the team announced Thursday.

Bohm, 24, was the third overall pick in the 2018 draft and is currently ranked as the Phillies' top prospect (31st overall) by MLB Pipeline.

The slugging infielder hasn't played above Double-A. In 63 games at that level in 2019, he hit .269/.344/.500 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs while striking out in just 14.1% of his plate appearances.

Jean Segura has taken the majority of reps at the hot corner so far this season, though he could shift to other infield positions if Bohm takes over at third.

Bohm is the second Phillies top prospect to get the call over the last week after right-hander Spencer Howard made his MLB debut Sunday.

The Phillies placed outfielder Adam Haseley on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Aug. 12 and designated right-hander Edgar Garcia for assignment in corresponding moves.
