Chicago Cubs manager David Ross and five other Tier 1 individuals did not attend the team's Monday morning workouts due to delayed COVID-19 testing results, according to The Athletic's Sahadev Sharma.

The Cubs later received five negative tests for the six individuals, while the last pending test, which does not involve a player or Ross, was compromised and requires a redo, reports Patrick Mooney of The Athletic.

Chicago did not disclose the identities of those tested. Tier 1 individuals include players, coaches, trainers, and any uniformed, on-field personnel.

Cubs right-hander Yu Darvish has been vocal in his concern about the upcoming season, though he has committed to playing for now.

Delays in results have been ongoing leaguewide. After the Independence Day weekend, several teams were forced to put summer camps on hold while awaiting results.

On Monday, the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros - both teams have experienced delays - announced they would be moving their team workouts to afternoons and evenings.

Major League Baseball announced its intake testing results Friday and has entered the monitoring stage of testing. Since camps opened, some players have subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 after originally being cleared and taking part in team workouts. New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman and Kansas City Royals catcher Cam Gallagher both tested positive over the weekend.
