Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Cody Bellinger, like players throughout Major League Baseball, is adapting to the health and safety procedures tied to the coronavirus pandemic.
Wearing a face mask, which is currently mandatory in California's public spaces, hasn't been an issue for the reigning NL MVP.
"I don’t think it’s a hassle to wear a mask," he said, according to Beth Harris of The Associated Press. "If your breath stinks, it sucks. But it just means you brush your teeth a little more."
The Dodgers recently opened summer camp at Dodger Stadium, and Bellinger is looking forward to the unique experience of a shortened 60-game schedule.
"Everything is going to be so weird this year. It’s going to be fun," he said. "It could be a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I’m just taking advantage of what we got."
The first baseman/outfielder is coming off a massive season in which he slashed .305/.406/.629 with 47 home runs and 115 RBIs in 156 games.
