The Boston Red Sox and infielder Jose Peraza have agreed to a deal worth approximately $3 million, plus incentives, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

The Cincinnati Reds non-tendered the speedy infielder earlier this offseason, making him a free agent.

Peraza, 25, hit .239/.385/.346 over 141 games last year, collecting six homers and seven stolen bases in the worst season of his career. In 2018, the infielder swiped 23 bags and accrued 2.6 WAR, according to FanGraphs.

Peraza will likely compete for the second-base job alongside Tzu-Wei Lin unless Dustin Pedroia is ready for the 2020 campaign.
