The Toronto Blue Jays have checked in on free-agent righty Michael Pineda, according to Scott Mitchell of TSN.

Pineda performed well for the Minnesota Twins during the 2019 season but received a 60-game punishment in early September for using a banned substance. The 30-year-old authored a 4.01 ERA and 4.02 FIP over 26 starts.

Another hurler who's on Toronto's radar is former Korean Baseball Organization ace Josh Lindblom, a source told Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.

The Blue Jays are also reportedly interested in left-handers Hyun-jin Ryu and Dallas Keuchel.

Starting pitching was a major issue for the Blue Jays last season. Their rotation ranked 24th in WAR, according to FanGraphs.

Toronto's current options for its 2020 rotation include Trent Thornton, Jacob Waguespack, Chase Anderson, Matt Shoemaker, Anthony Kay, Ryan Borucki, and T.J. Zeuch.
