The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed free-agent catcher Stephen Vogt to a one-year deal.

The contract includes a club option and vesting options for 2021. Vogt is guaranteed to make $3 million in the first season and could earn $7 million in total if one of the options is exercised, according to Zach Buchanan of The Athletic.

Vogt, 35, played with the San Francisco Giants in 2019, hitting .263/.314/.490 with 10 homers and three steals while accruing 0.9 WAR, according to FanGraphs.

The Oakland Athletics were reportedly interested in a reunion with the backstop. The two-time All-Star spent five seasons with the A's and hit .255/.316/.416 over 458 games.

Vogt will likely form a tandem catching duo with Carson Kelly, who was acquired last winter from the St. Louis Cardinals in the Paul Goldschmidt trade. Kelly hit .245/.348/.478 over 111 games, sharing duties with Alex Avila, John Ryan Murphy, and Caleb Joseph. Of those three, Joseph is the only other catcher the Diamondbacks have already retained for 2020. Avila is a free agent and Murphy is with the Atlanta Braves.
