The San Francisco Giants have hired Scott Harris as their new general manager, the team announced on Sunday.
Harris previously worked for the Chicago Cubs as an assistant general manager, and Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer highly recommended him, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.
He joins the Giants' ranks under president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi, who was hired last November.
San Francisco now needs to find a manager to replace Bruce Bochy after the longtime skipper retired following the 2019 season. Astros bench coach Joe Espada recently emerged as the favorite.
