Philadelphia Phillies starter Jake Arrieta made headlines at the end of the regular season when he said the clubhouse culture was better without Carlos Santana on the team.

Now, less than one week later, Santana responded to Arrieta's complaints on Twitter:

It's not my style to focus on the past or call out teammates but I saw jake's comments and want to address it. You can ask any teammate I've EVER played with, I take my job seriously. So if Jake isn't doing the best thing for the team or setting a bad example for the guys, I'm not going to sit back and support it. Maybe he didn't agree with that ... Actions speak louder than words. I LOVED my time in Philly and wish them the best. Turn the page Papi.

After signing a three-year, $60-million contract with the Phillies prior to 2018, Santana infamously smashed a television in the Philadelphia clubhouse after finding teammates playing Fortnite during a game in September.

During the ensuing offseason, the Phillies traded Santana to the Seattle Mariners, who subsequently flipped the first baseman/designated hitter to the Cleveland Indians - where he spent the first eight years of his career.

Santana, 33, responded with one of the best seasons of his career, hitting .281/.397/.515 while tying a career high in home runs with 34. He also set a new personal best with 94 RBIs.
