Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Ryan Borucki will miss the remainder of the 2019 season after undergoing a procedure to clean up bone spurs in his left elbow, a source told Scott Mitchell of TSN.

Borucki met with Dr. James Andrews this week, but Mitchell reports the pitcher won't require Tommy John surgery and is expected to be ready for spring training.

The 25-year-old was expected to be a fixture in Toronto's rotation after he posted a 3.87 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 17 starts in an impressive rookie showing in 2018. But a sore elbow landed him on the 60-day injured list in April, and he didn't pitch for the Blue Jays until July 22.

Borucki allowed eight earned runs over 6 2/3 innings in two starts before returning to the IL with renewed elbow inflammation July 31.
