Devers ties Sheffield's 2005 mark for single-season RBIs vs. 1 team
Rafael Devers continued his torrid pace against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.
With his three-run bomb in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Boston Red Sox third baseman tied Gary Sheffield for the most RBIs against a single team in one season since 2005. The 22-year-old's home run off right-hander Thomas Pannone gave him 28 runs driven in against the Blue Jays this year, tying Sheffield's mark versus the Baltimore Orioles, according to Sportsnet Stats.

Notching nine total RBIs over the four-game series, Devers also surpassed Red Sox legend David Ortiz for most RBIs in a single season against the Blue Jays.
Devers is enjoying a breakout campaign, slashing .326/.380/.558 with 19 home runs over 93 games. He'll have a chance to pass Sheffield when the Red Sox travel to Toronto for a three-game set Sept. 10-12.
