It appears Matthew Allan will turn pro instead of going to college.

The New York Mets have agreed to sign the prized right-hander after drafting him in the third round of the 2019 MLB draft, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

Terms of the deal are not known. His pick value was $667,900.

Allan, projected by MLB Pipeline to be a first-round selection, dropped to the Mets with the No. 89 overall pick due to signability issues; he was apparently committed to attending Florida.

The 18-year-old is a big, strong, physical pitcher with a fastball that touches 97 mph. He tossed a perfect high school game in May, striking out 17 batters.
