Toronto Blue Jays staff ace Marcus Stroman has never been one to shy away from celebrating his own success on the field.

After shutting out the Boston Red Sox through six innings and striking out Eduardo Nunez during Sunday's game, Stroman stared into the opposing dugout before dancing off the mound and clapping. NESN analyst and Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley took exception to the right-hander's antics, calling them "tired."

It didn't take long for Stroman to take notice of the broadcaster's criticisms following the win, tweeting that Eckersley's "comments are always trash."

Stroman also called Eckersley a hypocrite while retweeting a video of the one-time Cy Young winner celebrating his own on-mound success.

This isn't the first time Eckersley has drawn the ire of players. Red Sox left-hander David Price had a public feud with the six-time All-Star during the 2017 season after Eckersley criticized Price's teammate Eduardo Rodriguez for his rough minor-league start during a rehab assignment.

Following Sunday's gem, Stroman now owns a 3.04 ERA and 3.70 FIP over 17 starts on the year.
