Giancarlo Stanton is starting to look like his old self.
The New York Yankees slugger hit a pair of home runs in Wednesday's rehab game with Class-A Tampa, raising his total to four during his recovery with the Tarpons.
The first, a solo shot, came in the bottom of the third, with the second coming two innings later with a man on base.
It's the second day in a row that Stanton has gone deep.
Stanton has been out since April 1 thanks to biceps, shoulder, and calf injuries. Once his stint in Tampa is finished, he'll move on to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before rejoining the Yankees, which he says should come soon.
"I felt good, my timing's getting there," Stanton said postgame. "I think I'll play through the weekend in the minors and then hopefully get back next week."
The Yankees begin a 10-game homestand Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays, with the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays following them on the schedule.
