The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to maintain their National League-best record without the services of shortstop Corey Seager for the next several weeks.

Seager is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after exiting Tuesday night's 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels with what was initially diagnosed as a Grade 2-plus strain of his left hamstring.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury while running the bases.

"Just coming around third, it grabbed pretty good," Seager said postgame, according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. "Gonna get it checked out tomorrow, see where we're at."

Seager will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

"I hesitate to put a number on it, but 2-plus," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. "Obviously, very unfortunate, the way that he’s playing and what he means to our ballclub. With what he’s done to overcome two surgeries and get into good playing shape. He’ll get back on the rehab trail and we’ll get him back as soon as we can."

Seager missed all but 26 games in 2018 because of elbow and hip surgeries and was returning to his All-Star form after a rough start to the year.

He owns a .278/.359/.468 slash line with 21 doubles and 38 RBIs in 2019 and was hitting .425 with 17 hits in 43 plate appearances to begin June.
