The Toronto Blue Jays bolstered their bullpen depth by claiming left-hander Zac Rosscup off waivers from the Seattle Mariners, the team announced Thursday.

In a corresponding move, the club designated right-hander Jimmy Cordero for assignment.

Rosscup opened the season with a 3.21 ERA and 4.15 FIP through 14 innings after signing as a free agent with the Mariners this past winter.

The 30-year-old southpaw owns a 29.6 percent strikeout rate for his career, which spans six seasons with four teams. Despite posting elite K rates, the journeyman has a 13.8 percent career walk rate, which swelled to 20.3 percent this season with Seattle, leading to him being designated for assignment Friday.
