2018 MLB Rule 5 Draft results

Major League Baseball's 2018 Rule 5 Draft kicked off the final day of the winter meetings in Las Vegas. Teams were able to make a selection provided they had space available on the 40-man roster.

Players selected are automatically added to the 25-man roster and must be placed on outright waivers to be removed during the ensuing season. Should that player clear waivers, he must be offered back to his previous team for $50,000 and can only be sent to the minors if that team does not wish to re-acquire him.

The San Francisco Giants also selected center fielder Andrew Ferguson from the Houston Astros as the lone second-round pick to end the major-league phase of the draft.
