Hyun-Jin Ryu appears to be heading back to Los Angeles.

The free-agent left-hander will "most likely" accept the Dodgers' $17.9-million qualifying offer and pitch for the team on a one-year contract in 2019, a source told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com on Monday.

Ryu was one of seven MLB free agents who were tendered a qualifying offer on Nov. 2. The deadline to accept is Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

If he doesn't accept the offer, Ryu would become a free agent and the Dodgers would be entitled to draft-pick compensation if he signs elsewhere.

Ryu earned $7.833 million in 2018. He only pitched in 15 games for the Dodgers because of injuries, but was incredibly effective when healthy. Although he didn't qualify for the ERA title, Ryu posted a team-low 1.97 ERA and added a 1.01 WHIP while striking out 82 batters and averaging a personal best 9.7 Ks per nine innings.

The 31-year-old first joined the Dodgers in 2013 after starring in his native South Korea. Despite losing nearly two full seasons to injuries, Ryu owns a career MLB record of 40-28 with a 3.20 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 502 strikeouts, and 140 walks over 557 2/3 innings, all with the Dodgers.

Los Angeles also extended a qualifying offer to free-agent catcher Yasmani Grandal.
