David Price is staying in Beantown for the foreseeable future.

The Boston Red Sox left-hander has decided not to exercise the opt-out clause in his contract and will stay with the reigning World Series champion.

"I'm not going anywhere," Price said, according to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe.

Price is under contract with the Red Sox through the 2022 season. He'll earn $31 million in 2019 and $32 million annually for the following three campaigns, per Cot's Baseball Contracts.

The 33-year-old has endured a rocky tenure with the Red Sox due to an injury-shortened 2017, a combative relationship with the media, and suspect postseason performances prior to this season. Still, he's gone 39-19 with a 3.74 ERA and 481 strikeouts in 480 2/3 innings since joining the team before the 2016 campaign.

The five-time All-Star also shook off his playoff demons en route to Boston's World Series championship this month. He saved the best for last, going 2-0 with a 1.98 ERA over three World Series appearances (two starts), and earned the victory in the series-clinching Game 5.

This was the lone opt-out option in Price's contract, whereas teammate J.D. Martinez has two built into his.
