Look: Entire lineup of current managers in MVP Baseball 2005
When the Minnesota Twins hired Rocco Baldelli as their new manager on Thursday, they unknowingly completed a legendary lineup in arguably the greatest baseball video game of all time: MVP Baseball 2005.
Nine positional players from that time are now managers at the major-league level, and a user on Baseball Reddit put together a graphic to show what it looks like.

Order | Position | Name | Team Managing |
---|---|---|---|
1 | LF | Dave Roberts | Dodgers |
2 | CF | Rocco Baldelli | Twins |
3 | 3B | David Bell | Reds |
4 | 2B | Alex Cora | Red Sox |
5 | C | Brad Ausmus | Angels |
6 | 1B | Aaron Boone | Yankees |
7 | RF | Gabe Kapler | Phillies |
8 | DH | A.J. Hinch | Astros |
9 | SS | Craig Counsell | Brewers |
While using Cora in the cleanup spot may be a questionable choice (35 home runs in 1,273 career games), it is now a possibility. Placing speed demon Roberts at leadoff is the right decision, though.
MVP Baseball 2005 is still popular among gaming aficionados and PC modders, even though the franchise was discontinued after EA Sports lost its Major League Baseball rights.
