Major League Baseball fined Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Manny Machado Wednesday after he ran into the leg of Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguilar in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series, sources told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Machado was fined $10,000, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

The incident in question occurred in the 10th inning Tuesday after Machado dragged his left foot into Aguilar's back leg during a routine play at first base. The move upset Aguilar and the two got into a heated exchange before benches cleared.

Brewers players including Christian Yelich and Travis Shaw took exception to Machado's actions, calling him "dirty" postgame.

The 26-year-old Machado has been in the spotlight often during the NLCS, thanks to comments he made about hustling not being his "cup of tea," as well as his involvement in two questionable slides against the Brewers during Game 3.
