The Boston Red Sox can breathe a sigh of relief.

Ace left-hander Chris Sale has been released from the hospital after being admitted with a stomach illness Sunday. He will rejoin the team in Houston ahead of Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the Astros on Tuesday.

The southpaw was kept overnight at Massachusetts General Hospital for observation, but Red Sox manager Alex Cora wasn't overly concerned about his star pitcher's status.

"He's at the hospital. From what I know, it is nothing serious," Cora said, according to Coley Harvey of ESPN. "Whenever you have to go to hospital, you have to be quote-unquote 'worried.' But he should be fine."

In his Game 1 start, Sale allowed two runs on one hit while issuing four walks over four innings. Cora said the illness was not to blame for the abbreviated outing, and that Sale started feeling sick after he finished pitching.

Sale is tentatively slated to start Game 5.
