Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the American League Championship Series following Thursday's Game 5 series-clinching victory over the Houston Astros.

Bradley's 3-for-15 performance seems underwhelming at face value. But the stalwart center fielder made those three hits count with a bases-clearing double in Game 2 and a pair of home runs, including a grand slam in Game 3. The 28-year-old batted in nine runs over the series.

"(I'm) speechless," Bradley said after winning the award, according to ASAP Sports. "It's amazing. I have amazing teammates, amazing staff. Everybody's such a blessing."

Bradley is the fifth Red Sox player to receive the honor, joining Marty Barrett (1986), David Ortiz (2004), Josh Beckett (2007), and Koji Uehara (2013).
